Flexible Planning for a New Chapter – Japandi-Inspired Style for Newlyweds
This 426-sq-ft open-kitchen unit in KOKO ROSSO, Cha Kwo Ling, blends Japanese minimalism with light English aesthetics to create a calming and cozy atmosphere. Tailored for a newlywed couple with plans to start a family, the interior design prioritizes flexibility—allowing the home to evolve seamlessly with the changing needs of life.
Unifying Elements Through Wood Textures – Framed Cabinetry & Slatted Wall Accents
inT Design's designer took cues from the developer’s original kitchen cabinetry, noting its framed-door detail. This design language was carried throughout the home, with matching wood textures and framed cabinet doors to create visual continuity. The style draws from light English influences grounded in natural tones, blended with Japanese elements of wood and white. For instance, the upper part of the TV wall is clad in vertical wood slats, while the lower portion features clean white surfaces—fostering a serene and harmonious atmosphere.

Flexible Dining Solution for Everyday Living – Pull-Out Table Design
Tailored for a newlywed couple with minimal daily dining needs, the dining area features a retractable pull-out table. When not in use, the table can be fully concealed, keeping the space open and uncluttered—visually connecting the dining and living areas. The table is easily extended for meals or when hosting guests, offering a practical and adaptable solution that reflects the evolving lifestyle of a modern interior designs home.
Flexible Space with Enhanced Openness – Glass Partition & Mobile Furniture
Instead of a traditional solid wall behind the sofa, a glass partition was introduced to connect the living room with the multi-functional room. This thoughtful design allows natural light to flow through and keeps sightlines open, making the space feel brighter and more expansive. It also builds in flexibility for future changes as the family grows. Inside the room, only the storage cabinet and shelving are fixed; all other furniture is movable to allow for easy reconfiguration. It currently serves as a relaxing retreat but can easily be transformed into a children’s room later on. The design continues a warm wood tone throughout, aligning with the living and dining areas and matching the kitchen finishes for a cohesive and harmonious look.
Tatami Bed with Textured Wall Art – A Serene View by the Window
The master bedroom features a raised tatami-style interior designs platform bed placed by the floor-to-ceiling window, maximizing both storage and scenic views. This elevation visually expands the room while maintaining a cozy ambiance. From the headboard to the desk, the wall is enhanced with striped cushion wall art, adding warmth and texture. A swing-arm wall lamp not only enriches the design detail but also provides practical lighting, striking a thoughtful balance between style and function.
